An elderly woman was sent to hospital today after she was caught underneath the front wheels of a minibus.

According to Ming Pao, the woman, who appears to be one of the city’s many cardboard collectors, was crossing Castle Peak Road in Tuen Mun with her cart after 11am this morning when a red minibus turned left and hit her, causing her to fall in front of the vehicle.

A photo posted on Facebook shows the woman just in front of the wheels under the front of the bus, and video of the scene posted by Apple Daily shows slices of bread, paper, and cardboard boxes strewn across the road.

Police officers are investigating the cause of the accident, and the driver of the minibus — a 72-year-old man surnamed Wong — is assisting police with the investigation.
