Elderly woman gets leg stuck in gap between train and platform at Causeway Bay Station

A 74-year-old woman was hospitalised after she fell in the gap between the train and the platform at Causeway Bay MTR Station.

The incident took place at around 10:30am yesterday, Apple Daily reports. A witness on a Chai Wan-bound train said she heard a sudden shout after the train arrived at Causeway Bay.

A 74-year-old woman surnamed Ng had reportedly fallen and got her leg stuck between the train and the platform while she was trying to board the MTR.

Other passengers immediately pushed the emergency button to call for assistance. Station workers helped Ng out of the gap and urged her to seek treatment for injuries to her right leg, as she had difficulty walking.

A spokesperson for MTR Corp. said Ng was stretchered to an ambulance by staff and taken to hospital.

The spokesperson urged passengers to pay attention while boarding or exiting trains to avoid similar incidents in the future.
