‘Drunk’ driver crashes Audi into Connaught Road Central railing

At 1am yesterday, a man suddenly lost control of his Audi as he was driving towards Causeway Bay on Connaught Road Central and crashed into the railings, reports Apple Daily

The driver, aged 34, miraculously escaped with no injuries – despite the fact that the impact of the crash sent the railing’s metal bars flying, with one piercing the windshield.

The front of the car was completely destroyed, but the airbags deployed as they should and likely saved the man from getting hurt, or worse.

He was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving when he failed a breathalyser test.

The man, surnamed Weng, reportedly bought the Audi Q3 12 years ago for HKD500,000.
