‘Drug-fuelled’ Lexus car chase ends in three-vehicle crash and arrest of ‘triad-connected’ driver

A 28-year-old man with reported triad connections was arrested on Saturday morning after a 10-kilometre car chase that ended in a multi-vehicle crash and the discovery of five bags of cocaine.

The chase began at around 7am when the man, driving a silver Lexus, failed to stop at a police roadblock on Texaco Road in Tsuen Wan.

After around 10 minutes of “furious driving”, the pursuit ended with the suspect crashing his Lex into three vehicles – a private car, a truck and then finally a police car, reports the SCMP.

Five bags of cocaine were found in the car, and it is believed the driver was under the influence of narcotics at the time of the crash.

He was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, assaulting a police officer and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. He was also detained on suspicion of “furious driving”, which… who wudda funk it … is actually a charge.

The 28-year-old reportedly has a previous criminal record related to triad gangs, counterfeit money and drugs.
