Drop in import and export of shark fin products in Hong Kong

All of us who have said no to shark fin, deserves a good pat on the back.

According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, Hong Kong, imports and exports of shark fin products in Hong Kong have significantly reduced.

Comparing 2013 figures to 2012, imports of shark fin products dropped by about 35 percent, from 8,285.1 tonnes to 5,412.2 tonnes, while exports fell about 17.5 percent.

Spokeswoman of the World Wide Fung for Nature, Hong Kong believes the reduction in imports and exports of shark fin products is associated to the city’s efforts to not consume shark fin delicacies, lowering the demand of such products.
