We can’t believe this! A traffic cop on a motorcycle crashed while chasing a truck on Tai Po Road and the cop laid injured on the road for 10 minutes while other cars sped by, none of which stopped to assist until other cops arrived.
The incident happened on Tai Po Road, a highway with a speed limit of 80km/hour, and although passing cars slowed to stare at the incident, nobody got out of their car to help. Even the driver of the truck the cop had chased stayed in his truck, although the traffic cop, Wong, was lying in the middle of the road in plain view with one knee clearly injured and bent at the wrong angle. Wong said he could not move because the lower half of his body was numb.
An expert from the Hong Kong Automotive society commented that in such a situation, the correct thing to do would be to stop behind the injured cop, flash the hazard lights to block other cars from running onto him, and call the police.
