New developments have surfaced from Apple Daily about yesterday morning’s car crash on Tsing Ma Bridge, in which one man died.
The driver, an employee of construction company Gammon, had reportedly fallen asleep at the wheel after a 23-hour workday on an airport construction site. There were two other passengers, also Gammon workers, in the van, which is owned by the company.
The vehicle lost control on the bridge and rammed into the steel barrier on the side of the road, claiming the life of a 58-year-old worker whose head was leaning on the rearview window while asleep in the backseat.
A police press release says the 35-year-old driver has been arrested for dangerous driving, and urges witnesses of the incident with any new information to call (+852) 3661-1300.
