Don’t drink and fly: Woman attempts to open aircraft’s exit door mid-flight

Russian native, Alikina (29), married and living in Bangkok was on a Siberia Airlines flight from Russia to Bangkok, via Hong Kong. Mid-flight she was stopped from trying to open the plane’s exit door.

The captain immediately reported the situation to the Hong Kong International Airport and Alikina was under close-watch the rest of the flight. Suspicious of a possible terrorist attack, Hong Kong special forces rushed on-board to investigate as soon as the plane landed.

The authorities found her to reek of alcohol and when she sobered up, Alikina admitted to excessive drinking before boarding the plane.

Apple Daily reports, Alikina is currently in Hong Kong, being charged for disorderly and disruptive conduct. Bail was set at HKD5,000 and Alikina will need to appear at court on Sept. 27.
