A foreign domestic helper was arrested this morning after she was found carrying a bag of women’s clothing, worth tens of thousands of dollars, apparently stolen from her employer’s home in Repulse Bay.

At around 9am today, a security guard found the 41-year-old woman, from the Philippines, “acting suspiciously” with the bag outside her employer’s luxury home on Repulse Bay Road, SCMP reports.

The guard called police, who found 50 items of women’s clothing worth around HKD30,000 inside the bag and arrested the woman on suspicion of theft. She was taken into police custody for questioning and has not been charged with a crime.

Officers told SCMP that they were still trying to determine whether the suspect planned on selling the clothes.
