We have more good news to share regarding the injured dog from Tuen Mun. After major emergency surgery on her jaw (on Sunday night) the swelling of her tongue has gone down considerably, and she is able to eat small amounts of soft food, and has been taken for short walks outside. She is gradually returning to her normal gentle, happy self. However, she still has a way to go to recovery and will need to stay at our Centre for continued monitoring to stabilize her condition after such severe blood loss and trauma.

Despite her facial wounds and leg cast, the young pup seems to be in good spirits, with the SPCA commenting that she is “gradually returning to her normal gentle, happy self.”

According to the Association, swelling of the dog’s tongue has gone down considerably, and she is able to eat small amounts of soft food, and take short walks.

“However, she still has a way[s] to go [in terms of] recovery, and will need to stay at our Centre for continued monitoring to stabilise her condition after such severe blood loss and trauma,” the caption read.

Thousands of netizens have expressed their joy and relief at the dog’s recovery, with many thanking the SPCA for their efforts in helping the pup back onto her feet (or paws?).

It seems like the ruff-est part is (hopefully) over for this adorable pooch. As one netizen put it, “dogs are hardcore.”
