A young teen who accused her father of molesting her suddenly changed her testimony in court, admitting that she had lied about the incidents because she was angry her father refused to give her pocket money.
The 45-year-old father, who works in a kitchen, was charged with sexual abuse for molesting her daughter when she was aged 10 to 13. The daughter previously claimed to have been molested by her father every time she asked for pocket money. She said these incidents started when she was about ten years old and at times she was required to give her father a hand job. After these indecent acts, her father would give her about HK$100 to HK$500 as pocket money.
However, at court, she suddenly changed her testimony, and claimed she was lying because she was angry at her father for not letting her go out at night, breaking her phone, and not giving her pocket money.
The trial has been pushed back in light of this sudden development.
