Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, Leung Chun-ying, seems to have taken a few lines from Philippine President Aquino’s script, when he said he was sympathetic for victims of the Philippine storm but will stand by threat of sanctions. Sounds very familiar to what Aquino said to the victims’ families and survivors of the Manila hostage tragedy.
There are mixed feelings with lawmakers, chairman of the Democratic Alliance for the Bettterment and Progress of Hong Kong Tam Yiu-chung feels it’s not necessary to defer the sanctions’ deadline. Likewise, Labour Party legislator, Fenando Cheung, feels the government should push ahead as the issues has been dragged on for too long. Legislator Frederick Fung from the Association for Democracy and People’s Livelihood however feel the deadline should be pushed back until the Philippines deals with the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan.
“What do we want?” SANCTIONS AGAINST THE PHILIPPINES. “When do we want them?” AFTER OUR MAIDS HAVE CLEANED OUR APARTMENT AND MADE DINNER.
