Cop who dealt with irate ‘frost chaser’ is new PR star for Hong Kong Police (VIDEO)

An unlikely star has been made by the viral video of the argument between a stroppy frost-chasing hiker and exasperated police officers, and we’re not talking about the hiker’s cool Toy Story phone case.

The police officer featured in the clip, a probationary inspector named Luk Kwok Keung, has been unveiled as the star of a new public service announcement-type video from the Hong Kong Police, who, if you ask us, really needed some good PR right now.

Keep warm under the freezing weather and avoid going to high grounds!#拯救生命 #保障人命 #警察 #人身安全 #極端天氣 #嚴寒

Luk — who really has quite a normal voice when he’s not fighting to be heard over a belligerent citizen — is pictured looking rather chilly on the path up to Tai Mo Shan. He warns Hongkongers about the dangers of “frost chasing” on high ground, as well as advising us all to wrap up warm.

In the video, Luk also implores citizens to heed police instructions (yeah, Jenny) and explains that Tai Mo Shan Road has been closed on account of the frozen ground. Perhaps the most amusing part is Luk’s slightly bashful smile at the end, which no doubt was an attempt to appear affable in contrast to his (in most people’s opinion, justified) shouting during the viral argument.

And the award for Cutest Cop Ever goes to…
