Citybus driver forces passengers to get off after woman refuses to hold handle while using phone

A Citybus driver allegedly stopped his double-decker and forced all passengers to disembark after a young woman refused to get off her phone and hold a damn handle.

A photo that depicts the incident was widely shared on Facebook, with most netizens taking the side of the driver, reports Bastille Post.

It is unclear when the incident happened, but it is believed that it was on a 5B bus heading to Kennedy Town.

Apparently the woman was occupied with her phone conversation and refused to hold a handle. The bus driver, a stickler for safety, refused to drive.

As the argument continued and the bus remained stationary, passengers were forced to get off and find an alternative way home.

One netizen said the driver was justified, adding, “If an airplane passenger doesn’t wear their seatbelt, the plane will also refuse to take off off and the passenger will be removed from the flight.”

Another commented that the driver’s actions were a bit “over [the top]”.

In our opinion, if somebody wants to face plant on a bus because they were busy swiping profiles on Tinder, then so be it.
