It is being reported that the man found dead at the bottom of Hong Kong’s ICBC Tower this morning is a 31-year-old risk manager who had a fight with his girlfriend.
At around 7:30am, a man in a business suit was found unconscious in the flowerbed at the foot of the Citibank Plaza in Central. He was certified dead when the ambulance arrived on the scene.
Police erected a green tent over the body while investigations got underway.
According to the SCMP, a police source has identified the man as 31-year-old Lui Yau-man, an assistant vice-president at ICBC’s risk-management department. That has yet to be confirmed by ICBC, however.
The source said that initial investigations found nothing suspicious, and that it is thought the man committed suicide after an argument with his girlfriend.
His key card was found on the roof of the 37-storey building.
