Here’s why hanging out after dark in Chai Wan is a really bad idea, especially if you are a young woman.
A 16-year-old teen was jogging alone after dark at the Fung Wah Estate basketball court, near King Tsui Court, when a rapist wearing a face mask dragged her by the scruff of her neck into the grass, where she kicked and struggled. Luckily, a passer-by walking her dog heard her cries and scared the would-be rapist away with her dog.
Apparently, there were at least three other such incidents in Chai Wan in the past year, all involving young teens. Time to invest in a bottle of pepper spray?
