A 32-year-old instructor from Cathay Pacific’s safety training school has been arrested over the alleged indecent assault of his student, a 34-year-old trainee air steward.

The incident reportedly took place at the training school at Cathay City, the airline’s headquarters, on April 17. According to Oriental Daily, the safety training specialist was accused of groping the 34-year-old man’s chest, buttocks, and lower body.

The steward filed a police report two days later. Police sources told Oriental Daily that a 32-year-old man had been arrested last Wednesday (May 10) on suspicion of indecent assault in relation to the case. After questioning, the man was released on bail pending further inquiries.

According to local media reports, the steward resigned from Cathay Pacific after the incident. His reason for leaving the airline was not specified.

When Oriental Daily reached out to Cathay Pacific representatives to ask whether the safety training specialist had been suspended, the airline said it was cooperating with a police investigation and declined to disclose further details.
