How far would you go for a nice view?
Very far, perhaps so far that you fly off a cliff and land in the thick of the bushes, says the owner of this car.
According to HK01, firemen received reports on Monday afternoon about a car that had veered off Fei Ngo Shan Road, a stretch that leads to popular hiking spot Kowloon Peak.
When they arrived, they found a white Toyota stranded on the mountain, deep in the thickets and a good distance off the main road. They did not find anyone in the car, or anybody on the scene who appeared to be injured.
Police confirmed with Coconuts that the car was still there as of yesterday night and that the incident has been listed as a traffic accident.
The car is believed to have lost control while speeding down the mountain. Fei Ngo Shan is a popular hotspot for car racing as drivers find excitement in its steep but narrow slopes, HK01 reported.
The accident made for dramatic pictures of a shiny Toyota Prius in its not-so-natural habitat. On Facebook, users found humor in the photos and theorized what possibly might have led the car to its untimely demise.
“I wanted to bring my girlfriend to see the sunset, but she said there were too many people blocking the view so we drove forward,” one person wrote. He added a hashtag that translates as “what’s most important is that the girlfriend is happy.”
Another user photoshopped himself flashing a peace sign from the driver’s seat of the car. “Sorry everyone, I want to take a picture too,” he joked.
Photos also showed firefighters arriving at the scene and abseiling down the cliff as curious onlookers watched.
