Canto speakers are Google Translate’s top contributors for not-yet-supported languages

Go, go Canto!

Cantonese is not yet in Google Translate, but at the rate at which its speakers are contributing to the translation engine’s community, it surely won’t be long until it’s supported.

The Google Translate Community works by having volunteers rate the accuracy of different translations from English to Cantonese or vice versa. It also asks speakers to translate phrases to build its database.

Cantonese speakers are contributing at least twice as much as the speakers of the next unsupported language, Kyrgyz. Pashto trails behind at third.
