Dividing up stolen money in a McDonald’s 30 metres away from where you just committed burglary is pretty dumb — and that’s just what three veteran burglars did last night, and where they were arrested mid-meal.
According to the police, an undercover surveillance team watched them burgle a food store in Tseun Wan, where they broke open a safe and cash register before visiting the McDonald’s on Tseun Wan Market Street less than 50 metres away. They were arrested at McDonald’s at 3am, while dividing up the HK$180,000 in cash they stole, as well as a crowbar, and a pair of pilers.
