Looking for a good cause to get your Year of the Goat karma off to a flying start? (Yeah, we know we’re mixing religions.)
Why don’t you pitch in and get your hands dirty helping your fellow country men and women on the mainland achieve one of the most important things in life – a safe and affordable home.
(And yeah, we know such things are also a bit scarce in Hong Kong, but let’s look outside our little bubble for once, shall we?)
NGO Habitat for Humanity is seeking 170 participants from Hong Kong to take part in YouthBUILD, which will see homes erected in Shiming Village, Guangdong, over the weekend of March 21.
At the same time, hundreds more volunteers (aged 15 and above) will also be laying bricks, building foundations and mixing cement in 15 countries across the Asia Pacific.
Having been on a mission to eliminate poverty housing worldwide since 1976, Habitat for Humanity and their hardy volunteers have helped build and renovate more than one million homes for more than five million people across 70 countries (including in Hong Kong) .
So if you think a hard hat, steely-toe-caps and a big heart are going to be a good look for you this season, SIGN UP before the Feb. 27 deadline!
