British survivor in Egypt hot-air balloon crash unwilling to testify

The inquiry date of hot-air balloon tour in Luxor, Egypt that killed nine Hong Kong tourists, and 10 deaths in Feb. 2013 has yet to be set, reports The Standard.

However, in a closed-door session police have 20 witnesses to testify, but British tourist, Michael Rennie, who survived the tragedy has refused to testify in the Hong Kong inquiry.

Rennie claims he did not want to relive memories of the tragedy and claims to still have trouble sleeping because of the incident. Rennie’s wife Yvonne died in the incident.

20 people were killed when the hot-air balloon burst into flames and crashed. Only Rennie and the pilot survived by jumping off the gondola seconds before it hit the ground.
