The viral video of 20-year-old Cheng Yan-na slapping her boyfriend, surnamed Chioo Wing-ming, 14 times in public (see the video here if you’ve missed it!), appeared at court today.
The court made her pay guarantees of HK$1,000, HK$300 legal fees, and sign a one-year bond of good behavior when the prosecution dropped charges against her. The magistrate ordered she is to not disrupt social order during the bind-over and demanded she does not hurt or threaten to hurt others with or using violence.
Despite how badly Cheng seems to treat Chioo, the couple has reconciled and Chioo accompanied Cheng at court. When a swarm of reporters surrounded them when they left court, Chioo pushed one of the reporters causing a photographer to fall onto the ground. They tried to leave via a taxi but we’re surrounded by reporters and were escorted to report the situation to the police station.
