A survey of 1,279 employers found that many bosses dislike employees calling in sick over chat apps like Whatsapp. Many felt that using phone apps rather than a direct call or e-mail is unacceptable. Employers say that the young workers of today are creative but self-centred, and are irresponsible and money driven. Many young people are used to communicating through Whatsapp and WeChat but are not good at talking, especially face-to-face.
