Bomb scare at Tsim Sha Tsui MTR construction site

This morning at around 9am, workers at the Austin Road West Kowloon MTR development site thought they found a World War II bomb while carrying out excavation work.

A worker, nicknamed Ming, notified site managers that he found a bomb to be 54cm by 18cm in size, 20meters under ground, reports the Apple Daily.

Police were called to the scene and blocked off areas around the site. Before the bomb squad was called to the scene, experts at the site were able to figure out that it was not actually a bomb but an empty gas canister. Phew!
