The body of a 23-year-old Australian man who had gone missing from a party on the weekend was found yesterday afternoon on the outdoor podium level of a building in Lan Kwai Fong after having apparently fallen to his death.

Police went to the party district in Central after receiving a missing persons report at 3pm yesterday. Family and friends of the deceased had been unable to contact him since the party ended in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The person who filed the report said that the man was in a “party room” with friends at Wai Lan House on Saturday night, but had disappeared.

Ming Pao reports that CCTV footage from the building shows the man went into the toilet in the party room in the early hours of Sunday morning, but he didn’t come out again.

When police arrived to search the building yesterday, they found the man’s body on the podium level at the base of the building.

An autopsy will be carried out, but at present, police believe that the incident wasn’t the result of foul play, and that the man had fallen out of the toilet window.
