Beijing loyalist says Hong Kong’s pro-democracy student leaders will die ‘like Osama bin Laden’

Robert Chow, a Beijing loyalist and founder of a staunchly anti-Occupy group, has warned that the student leaders of last year’s pro-democracy protests will die violent deaths, “just like Osama bin Laden”.

Speaking to digital broadcaster DBC yesterday, Chow said “If Joshua Wong, Lester Shum and Alex Chow go on like this they’ll likely end up in prison or even dying a violent death. Everyone knows that this is the outcome once you become a terrorist, just like Osama bin Laden.”

In June last year, Chow’s group Silent Majority released this now-infamous video depicting in amusingly dramatic style how the Occupy Central protests threatened by organisers would “kill” Hong Kong. Dun, dun, dun!!!

When students first began their class boycott on Sept. 22 last year, Chow also set up a hotline so the public could dob on those who took part.
