At around noon a platform at the Central MTR station had to be closed due to a power failure. Firefighters responded to the scene, though it is unclear what for.
Later in the afternoon, the MTR suspended services on the Tsuen Wan line for 40 minutes due to “ventilation problems”, though it is uncertain whether this was related to the earlier power failure, reports the SCMP.
These incidents happen two weeks after fares were increased on average by 3.6%.
