A baby girl with a severe case of the flu is in critical condition in a Hong Kong hospital.
The Department of Health last night announced that it is investigating the case of a one-year-old girl who presented with a fever and convulsions at the Accident and Emergency Department of Tseung Kwan O Hospital on Wednesday this week.
After her condition deteriorated further, she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit of the United Christian Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
She has been diagnosed with encephalopathy (a brain dysfunction) and influenza A (H3).
Hong Kong has suffered 239 deaths from flu so far this year.
