A survey conducted by human resources consultancy ECA International found Hong Kong to be the most expensive place in the world for expat workers to rent a property. The study found an average unfurnished three-bedroom flat in expat areas in Hong Kong would set workers back by HK$90,000 a month.
Hong Kong is so expensive that it leads in front of second place Moscow by 20 percent.
With four by six feet capsule rooms going for about HK$2,500 a month in Hong Kong, we’re not surprised a three-bedroom flat in an expat-friendly neighbourhood is going for HK$90,000.
