We’ve all had taxi rage every now and then, but violence is never the answer.
A Caucasian couple was arrested after allegedly having an altercation with a taxi driver over a disputed metre fare in Sai Ying Pun in the early hours yesterday.
The 25-year-old man and 29-year-old woman who caught a cab from the Landmark in Central to the Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong on Connaught Road West, were said to have engaged in fisticuffs with their 52-year-old cabbie after suspecting him to have “taken a longer route”, which resulted in a HKD30-plus fare, reports Apple Daily.
They purportedly walked out of the cab without paying the fare, which led to the alleged fight.
Said to have been pushed to the ground, the woman reportedly injured her head and foot, while the taxi driver was apparently kicked.
The driver and the female passenger were both sent to hospital, while the male passenger was arrested along with the cabbie.
