Airport Express suspended, Tsing Ma Bridge roads shut after ship collision

UPDATE (9:58pm): The Tsing Ma Bridge was re-opened shortly before 10pm, reports the SCMP. Unsurprisingly, there is now chaos at the airport and at the Airport Express’ Kowloon Station’s and Hong Kong Station’s check-in counters.

The Airport Express train services have been suspended and the Tsing Ma Bridge roads closed after a large ship collided with Kap Shui Mun Bridge at around 7pm today, reports Ming Pao.

Emergency checks were ordered on Tsing Ma Bridge and its roads have been closed in the meantime.

MTR services to Tung Chung have also been suspended, according to RTHK

Those who need to make it to the airport are being advised to take the ferry to Lantau Island then take a bus or taxi to the airport.
