In stark contrast to the Hong Kong’s government claims that it’s working to bring house prices down, a home at The Peak yesterday went on sale with a world record price tag per square foot. The most expensive of the houses in the Twelve Peaks development (12 Mount Kellet Road) is being advertised by Sun Hung Kai Properties with an asking price of HKD819 million, translating to HKD175,735 per sellable square foot.
The swanky pad comes with its own 273 sqft terrace, 813 sqft rooftop, a pool and an air-conditioning plant room. If it goes for the asking price, the address will become the world’s most expensive house per square foot, surpassing Hong Kong’s previous hot ticket home, No. 10 Skyhigh on Pollock’s Path, which sold for HKD800 million in 2011.
