The allegedly abused Indonesian maid, who left Hong Kong disfigured, has finally been discharged from the hospital in Java, Indonesia yesterday.
When Erwiana was admitted she was in critical condition, and although she is leaving the hospital, Erwiana still has many permanent marks of abuse on her body.
At the press conference for her departure from the hospital, Erwiana tearfully hoped that her case would prevent future abuse of “small people like us”.
She also expressed she was feeling better and yearned to return to her old life.
