The case of abused domestic helper Erwiana Sulistyaningsih who suffered horrifying abuse at the hands of her employer, sent back to Indonesia, and now recently returned to Hong Kong to testify against her employer was named the 100 Most Influential People in the US publication, Time Magazine.
Time Magazine called Erwiana “the migrant worker who fought back,” and was named for advocating better laws to protect other domestic helpers, and bringing the plight of domestic helpers to the spotlight.
