Hong Kong police are investigating after an 83-year-old woman was killed by a truck leaving a rubbish collection point this morning.
The medium goods vehicle hit the elderly woman at around 6:40am on its way out of the refuse collection station near Kin Tak Street, Yuen Long.
The woman, who sustained multiple injuries, was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital in a semi-conscious state but confirmed dead less than two hours after the accident.
The 57-year-old driver of the truck has been arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is currently being detained for questioning.
