Hong Kong’s Hospital Authority has confirmed that an 80-year-old coronavirus patient died today, bringing the total number of deaths in the city to four.

According to RTHK, he passed away at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital this morning.

He was linked to the Fook Wai Ching She Temple in North Point that was at the center of a cluster of cases last month.

Although he didn’t visit the temple himself, he did live in the same building, and his wife was a frequent visitor.

Health officials confirmed that he had an underlying illness and had mainly stayed at home. They said more details would be announced at the daily press conference at 4:30pm.

The news comes days after the Hospital Authority confirmed that a 76-year-old woman with COVID-19 from Sham Shui Po passed away on Sunday.
