A seven-year-old was left alone at home and woken up by a fire alarm, which terrified her and prompted her to call 999. When the police arrived and found that she was alone at home, the child’s mother was arrested for child neglect.
The fire alarm turned out to be a false alarm from a nearby mall, so she was not in immediate danger. The little girl was so scared that she was in tears and shaking, so she was taken back to the police station for temporary care. The mother was charged with child abuse and neglect.
