7-seater smashes through 4th-floor car park wall after drunk driver loses control

A 63-year-old man has been arrested after he smashed his seven-seater through a wall of a fourth-floor car park in Tsuen Wan, reportedly under the influence of alcohol.

At around 11:30pm on Friday, the man, surnamed Pun, was driving on the fourth storey of the Block C car park at Hong Kong Garden Estate, Apple Daily reports.

As he approached a corner, Pun apparently lost control of his vehicle and crashed through a wall, creating a three-foot-wide hole.

The front end of the vehicle hung in mid-air while the back end remained in the car park, allowing the driver and his passenger, who were unscathed, to escape through the car’s rear doors and call the police.

After emergency services arrived on the scene, nine firefighters were required to haul the car back up to safety. Police arrested Pun on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after he failed a breathalyser test.
