A 61-year-old man has died in Hong Kong after returning from mainland China with bird flu.
The unnamed man was in critical condition and isolation at The Lady MacLehose Holiday Village in Sai Kung after being transferred from Queen Mary Hospital where he was first admitted more than a week ago.
He died on Sunday.
The man is said to have returned from Dongguan in Gunagdong with the deadly H7N9 strain after handling poultry at a wet market.
More than 99 people who came into contact with him are also under observation in Hong Kong.
