Yesterday morning 600 people were evacuated after smoke was seen coming out from underneath an MTR train at the Mong Kok East station.
It is believed that the northbound train, traveling from Hung Hom to Lo Wu, had a problem with its brakes, causing the smoke at around 10am, according to Apple Daily.
Staff immediately evacuated the passengers from the train.
No-one was injured and train services, as efficient as ever, were unaffected.
Passengers report that the smoke caused a burning sensation in the throat when breathed in.
Staff used fire extinguishers to put out the smoke, while firefighters came as a precaution, reports the Standard.
