Police have arrested six people, including a pregnant woman who vomited at the scene, for allegedly putting up posters inside a pedestrian subway in Tin Shui Wai on Monday night.
According to Apple Daily, police received a tip at 9pm last night by someone who said they spotted a group of people spraying paint on the walls of the Ginza pedestrian subway on Tin Shing Road.
The newspaper reports that the group were putting up posters inside the subway at the time. Although there were no details as to what message the posters conveyed, HK01 reports that the subway is the site of a Lennon Wall, one of the many Post-It-covered walls bearing messages of support for the pro-democracy movement that have appeared across the city since protests began in June.
About 30 police officers were deployed to the scene. They then blocked entrances to the subway, and a group — comprising one man and five women — were stopped and searched. Four cans of spray paint were seized from the scene.
One video posted online shows uniformed police officers yelling at one male passer-by to get out and at one point asks “this doesn’t concern you, leave immediately,” while a woman in black kneeling on the floor can be seen throwing up.
Another video circulating online shows a group of five women kneeling on the floor. One police officer can be heard in the video below saying “these people are suspected of committing criminal damage, we need to arrest them,” while the same woman in black vomits.

Local media later reported that the woman in black is 22 years old and her 25-year-old boyfriend confirmed that she’s four months pregnant.
Yuen Long district councillor Lam Chun confirmed to HK01 that she was sent to hospital and is currently in a stable condition and didn’t sustain any injuries.
Stand News reports that the group were taken to Tin Shui Wai police station shortly after they were apprehended in the tunnel, and that the pregnant woman was only taken to the hospital at 1am, four hours after she was arrested.
The outlet reported Lam as saying that as of 12:30pm today, the six suspects haven’t been released, including the pregnant woman, who’s still in hospital.
