UPDATE: After 105 hours, Tsang has now been reunited with his wife! Passersby spotted him around one kilometre away from his home at around 3pm today and he has been taken to hospital for a checkup.
As a 46-year-old brain cancer patient remains missing for a fifth day, his wife continues to appeal for information on his whereabouts and says she “won’t ever give up” on finding him.
Tsang Hing-lun was last seen on Sunday morning, when he left his home in Shek Mun Estate. He was reported missing by his family on the same day.
His wife has been searching nearby areas and handing out flyers every day – even throughout Typhoon Nida – but hasn’t found any leads yet.
One day, Mrs. Tsang told Oriental Daily she’d mistaken a homeless man for her husband under a bridge in Tai Wai. In her haste to be reunited with who she thought was her husband, she slipped and injured herself, getting bruised and blistered in the process.
“With every day that he stays missing, I just get more and more worried,” she said. “I don’t even know where to look anymore… I’ve searched all of Sha Tin.”
Tsang was diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago. Though he has lost much of his physical and cognitive abilities, his wife told Oriental Daily that his condition had been improving recently.
“He can walk without a wheelchair… he was getting better. After we overcame so many hurdles, why are we being tested so cruelly now?”
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Tsang Hing-lun or may have seen him should call the Regional Missing Persons Unit of New Territories South on 3661 1174 or 6674 0482, or email rmpu-nts-2@police.gov.hk
