4-month-old baby falls unconscious during flight to Hong Kong, confirmed dead on arrival

UPDATE: Plane made emergency stop en route to Hong Kong before four-month-old passenger’s death

A four-month-old baby girl was confirmed dead upon arrival at Hong Kong International Airport yesterday after falling unconscious during a flight.

Oriental Daily reports that the infant, who was travelling with her mother, fell unconscious during a flight to Hong Kong yesterday. After the plane landed, the child’s mother, a 36-year-old foreign woman asked the crew for help.

An ambulance which arrived at the scene shortly confirmed that the baby had died. No further information about the family’s identity, or their travel details were given in the report.

Initial police investigations suggest no suspicious circumstances, but the cause of death has yet to be confirmed, pending autopsy results. It is reported that the child had an unidentified pre-existing physical condition.
