Police have arrested three people, aged 16 to 24, for conspiracy to commit murder, in connection to a body found in a cement block yesterday.
According to an official police statement, a woman filed a missing persons report for her friend, a 28-year-old man, on March 6.
Apple Daily reports that, at around 3pm yesterday, police traced the 28-year-old’s mobile phone signal to an apartment in Tsuen Wan’s DAN6 residential building. Though the report did not confirm whose apartment it was, it did say that the flat’s listed tenant is missing.
Officers reportedly found a cubic metre of cement in the apartment’s living room, and described there being “an odd odour”.
Firefighters later arrived at the scene and cracked the cement block open to find a decaying male corpse curled up inside, face down on a mattress.
Police believe that the dead man’s clothing matches the description of the missing 28-year-old. However, the body is reportedly “badly decomposed”, and officers from the Tsuen Wan District Crime Squad are carrying out further investigations to determine the victim’s identity.
Earlier today, police officers arrested two men, aged 21 and 24, and a 16-year-old girl, for conspiracy to commit murder. All three are allegedly believed to have access to the apartment where the body was found.
The cause of death has yet to be confirmed, pending post-mortem examinations.
Anyone who knows the deceased, or has any information about the case is urged to contact the investigating officers by calling 6101 0301.
