Anti-triad police struck a blow against organized crime last week, seizing a cache of firearms and weapon parts in raids across the city.

The haul — which has so far led to three arrests — included 19 guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition and gun and bomb-making parts, wrote Apple Daily.

Probably best that’s off the streets.

According to Headline Daily, the operation went ahead after customs learned gun parts may be sent to the city.

The bulk of the seized weapons and bullets were discovered at a house in Sai Kung during a raid last Thursday, police revealed over the weekend, according to HK01.

There officers netted 19 guns, 2,000 rounds of ammo and bomb parts — including two detonators and a fuse.

The website reports that the guns seized from the scene included a Glock 17 hand gun that had some adjustments which included a torch and a laser sight.

Police arrested a 70-year-old man surnamed Lau at the scene, who is expected to appear at Kwun Tong Magistrate’ Court today, according to on.cc.

That raid followed an operation on Wednesday where officers swooped on a mini storage unit in Tsuen Wan. There they found 108 firearm parts.

A 33-year-old man surnamed Chan was also taken into custody and charged with possession of firearms and ammunition without a licence.

A third raid, on Saturday, meanwhile uncovered 10 rounds of ammunition in a flat in the Western district. That operation saw a 39-year-old surnamed Yuen arrested at the premises though the suspect was later released on bail.
