A 27-year-old man, surnamed, was arrested yesterday for posting pictures of knives on his facebook page and claiming “tonight I’ll carry out a bloody massacre. I’ll use these two knives to do something big”.

The posts went viral and the police received reports expressing they feared that Chan was looking to imitate the Taiwanese man, Cheng Chieh, who went on a killing spree, killing four, in a Taipei metro station earlier this month.
Although, Chan went back on Facebook the following day to clarify his post was referring to killing cockroaches and asked netizens not to overreact – netizens dug out his Chan’s identity and the police raided Chan’s home yesterday in Tseung Kwan O and charged him with accessing a computer with criminal or dishonest intent.
Be mindful of what you post online as sending messages over the internet can attract civil liability and may lead to five years in prison, reports The Standard.
