A 26-year-old woman was killed in the early hours of today after she was hit by a double-decker bus that barrelled onto the pavement in Tsim Sha Tsui.
At around 6am, a 1A KMB bus for Sau Mau Ping swerved while heading down Nathan Road and drove onto the pavement, striking a young pedestrian near exit A1 of Tsim Sha Tsui Station.

The pedestrian, surnamed Lam, got trapped underneath the bus and was freed half an hour later by firefighters. She was rushed to hospital unconscious and declared dead at 7:05am, Apple Daily reports.
The bus driver, a 40-year-old man surnamed Leung, reportedly told police that he felt lightheaded at the time of the incident and was taken to hospital after complaining that he felt unwell. He has been arrested for dangerous driving causing death.
A senior inspector for the West Kowloon Police District told reporters that an investigation was underway to determine whether the accident was caused by a mechanical failure.
