Two women have been sent to the hospital after climbing out of a window, slipping and falling four metres to evade what they (mistakenly) believed was their impending arrest. Oops!
A group of three women, suspected to be parallel traders according to Apple Daily, were working in a Sheung Shui industrial building when they got into some form of argument yesterday afternoon.
The building security guards, alarmed by the noise coming out of their warehouse, called the police.
The officers dutifully arrived on the scene, expecting to have to break up a routine, mild fight.
The women panicked, and believing they were to be arrested for parallel trade (or so Apple Daily says), climbed out of the window of their second-storey warehouse.
Two of the clumsy ladies, aged 58 and 51, slipped and fell one storey to a terrace, while another, aged 48, managed to keep her footing.
The two injured women were sent to hospital for minor treatment. They are believed to be from the mainland, and to possess exit-entry permits for Hong Kong and Macau.
The police investigation found that the three women lived with a local man who claimed they were visiting friends and relatives.
