A 17-year-old boy is suspected of falling to his death while doing extreme sports on the rooftop of a building in Hong Kong, according to local media reports.

HK01 quoted the police as saying that they received a report of the accident at around 3pm on Monday from a resident of Tsim Sha Tsui Mansion.

According to the police, the resident said that a man fell from a height and was lying on a platform opposite the building.

Paramedics arrived at the scene moments later and pronounced him dead.

The Chinese-language portal said the deceased was believed to have been playing extreme sports with several friends on the rooftop earlier.

He then fell from the building and crushed a pipe, it added.

The police have cordoned off the scene for investigations and are questioning the deceased’s friends about the incident.

The online portal also said the deceased’s relatives and friends became emotional and burst into tears when they arrived at the scene.
